The challenge

The club was using an extremely outdated, non-responsive website, and their scoring system was based on a 2001 database stored on a single thumb drive. In addition, all business transactions were processed manually, leading to inefficiencies. 

The solution

We approached the solution in two phases. In Phase 1, we designed a custom WordPress website featuring an updated back-end scoring system and database to improve functionality and data management. In Phase 2, we expanded the platform by adding member login and registration capabilities, along with secure online payment options for memberships and event registrations.

As Creative Director, I led the development of a two-phase digital transformation for the organization. We first launched a custom WordPress website with a new back-end database and scoring system, then expanded it with a member portal for online payments, event registration, personal stats, and account management.

E-Commerce Functionality

We streamlined operations by eliminating manual transaction processing, saving the club both time and money while improving overall efficiency.

Member Login Portal

The member portal enables users to pay fees online, register for events, view personal statistics, update their contact information, review transaction history, and manage equipment and ammunition details. By centralizing these features in one place, the system automates many routine tasks and eliminates the need for manual data entry.

Scoring Database

The scoring system is user-friendly and accessible on any device. Built on a custom database, it automatically processes complex scoring formulas in real time, eliminating manual calculations and reducing the risk of human error. Leaderboards update instantly as scores are entered, streamlining the workflow and removing the extra steps previously required to maintain manual rankings.

Cloud Storage

Data is now securely stored in the cloud, significantly reducing the risk of loss due to thumb drive failure, misplaced devices, or hardware damage.

Before Redesign

Original website built in 2001 was outdated and not user friendly.

the results

Since launching the new platform, the club has grown its membership by 65%, driven in part by the ability for new members to register online, resulting in increased revenue. We continue to enhance the system with new functionality, including automated Hall of Fame scoring, a branded online merchandise store, and ongoing improvements to the member portal.
